The city of Brentwood was established in 1867 as the headquarters of the Union Pacific Railroad. It is located on the northwest corner of an eastern bay of river Missouri in southeast Missouri. The city’s western boundary is the Mississippi River and the eastern boundary is the Missouri Pacific Railroad’s railroad line. The city is served by six main airports; Stuttgart Municipal Airport in Brentwood, Missouri; Lambert-St. Louis International Airport in Stuttgart, Missouri; Midway International Airport in Joliet, Illinois; Mitchell International Airport in Saint Charles, Illinois; , and Lambert Field, which are run by the St Louis Regional Airport Authority (SLRA). With its high average income, Brentwood’s population is diverse, with ethnic groups represented from all over the United States, and Canada. The largest groups are of Irish descent, Italian Americans, blacks, and whites. The city’s racial make-up is close to that of St. Clair County as a whole, but with fewer blacks. Some of the neighborhoods that can be found in Brentwood include Northwood, Glenstone, Glenview, and Gage Park. There is a school that is located in the city as well, which is the Rockhurst Catholic School. Other than the aforementioned ethnic groups, the residents of Brentwood, Missouri have been described as both liberal and conservative. The same is true of the schools in the town.
