Maryland Heights, Missouri is an upper-income, mid-range, second-ring suburb of St. Louis, situated in St. Clair County, Missouri. The population has grown to more than 27,000 in the last census. The City was incorporated in 1985, shortly after being incorporated into the new municipality. Edwin L. Dirck served as the town’s first mayor. This neighborhood is a major commercial center in south central St. Clair County. It borders Chesterfield and Washington Counties, and includes some of the country’s highest levels of property taxes. This neighborhood is considered one of the country’s middle-class suburbs, with both residential and business districts, and suburbs of St. Clair County to its south. Maryland Heights, Missouri’s most popular business district is Chesterfield County, which has the county seat, Clayton. This suburb is a major medical center for St. Clair County, having a major hospital that serves the entire area and a number of specialty hospitals. The community also offers many recreational facilities, including a small park, tennis courts, and golf course. The baseball team of this community is the Saint Louis Cardinals, and it is one of the best in the entire United States. The residents of Maryland Heights enjoy an active social life and are known for their love of sports, music, and entertainment. A number of businesses and families have recently moved to the community, including high-rise apartment complexes, a popular shopping mall, and a number of restaurants. This community is also home to the headquarters of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), which holds events in the arena and stadium at the University of Missouri in Columbia.
